Ducati, an Italian motorbike manufacturer, has revealed its latest range of electric bikes, including the Futa. This is an ultra-light race-e-bike.
Through a partnership with Thok (the machine manufacturer), Ducati entered the e-bike sector in 2019. The company launched its first electric mountain bike in tandem with its petrol-powered machines.
The firm plans to increase its ebike range by launching an upgraded emountain bike, an enduro bike, and the Futa racebike.
Futa is a monocoque carbon fiber frame made with sports endurance geometry. However, it was designed with aerodynamics in mind and speed in the forefront.
Ducati claims that the seat is comfortable enough to allow for aerodynamic performance.
The rear hub houses the motor. It is an FSA System HM 1.0 250W and 31 lb ft torque. Ducati states that the power system ‘boasts a fluid, natural delivery in all circumstances and is amongst the lightest and smallest in its class.
A 250Wh FSA battery can be integrated into the downtube. An optional 250Wh range extender can also be purchased if you need to cover longer distances.
The Garmin control unit can be attached to the handlebar and allows riders to select from five levels of assistance.
The FSA app allows riders to quickly view system statistics, remaining battery life, charge status and other information intuitively.
The Futa weighs 12.6kg (size medium frame). This makes it very lightweight, which Ducati claims will make for a smooth and responsive ride on flat roads.
FSA K-Force WE groupset features fast 2×12 speed wireless electronic shifting and adjustable 160mm disc brakes. The e-bike also has carbon fiber pedal arms.
Limited editions of the Futa bike will also be made. These bikes will only be available in 50 pieces and will have more advanced standard equipment. The bikes will weigh 12.2 kg.
Ducati also upgraded its MIG S mountain bike with a Shimano EP8 electronic motor. Ducati claims that the MIG-S e-mountain bike now has adjustable Rockshox suspension. This will make it ideal for any type of trail in safety.
Ducati will expand its product range with a limited edition TK-01RR. This is an exclusive Ducati e-enduro that’s specifically designed for off-roading.
This limited edition bike features more advanced components that are designed to improve performance downhill.
Ducati claims that Ohlins shock absorbers and Ohlins forks are motorcycle-inspired. A Shimano Di2 XT rear electronic Shifter will allow for fast and precise shifting.
